Php 39.6-M Marijuana hidden in balikbayan boxes seized at Manila Port

Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) agents seized earlier this week some 28kg of marijuana worth PHP 39.6 million inside a container cargo at the Manila International Container Port (MICP).

Based on the document, the balikbayan boxes came from Vancouver, Canada.

PDEA said the shipper, receiver, and forwarding companies involved will be investigated for the possible filing of charges in violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
